Somewhere around the country right now, seventeen Two-Hearted Bamboo Fly Rods are being fished. Seventeen pieces of cane, each built by hand, each with its own story, now in the hands of anglers I’m incredibly grateful for.
If you’re one of them, this is for you.
These rods were never meant to sit in their case. They were made for moving water, rising trout, long drifts, missed hooksets, perfect casts, and days you’ll remember years from now. And as you fish yours this summer and in the seasons ahead, I’d truly love to hear what you experience.
I’m always refining the taper and working to improve the overall feel of the rod. With only a small number of these out in the wild, every bit of real-world feedback carries weight. What you notice on the water helps shape the next rod that comes off the bench.
What does it do well?
What surprised you?
What would you change?
Whether it’s a quick note, a story from a day on the river, or a thoughtful critique, it all matters.
You’re not just fishing a rod—you’re helping shape the future of it.
