The Two-Hearted Fly Rod is a light weight, 4 wt., 8’6″, nano-carbon-fiber classic designed for targeting resident trout and panfish in streams and small rivers. It weighs in at 3.1 ounces. This rod is named after the famed Two-Hearted River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The rod is designed and assembled in Cannonsburg, Michigan. It’s lightweight and versatile, designed with a fast-action base. You have all the benefits of an ultralight fly rod but still have the backbone to load and cast sinking line for light streamer fishing. The rod was constructed by combining a 30 and 40 ton directional nano-carbon fiber cloth onto the form in a unique, overlapping orientation. It’s this process that gives the Two-Hearted it’s lightweight feel and strength.
The rod comes packaged in a cotton Brook Trout sleeve and a hand-made white pine case as shown. The case is hand-crafted in Cannonsburg, MI from White Pine, reclaimed from a 19th century Michigan farm house. The hinges and hardware are hand-picked to match the time-period. It’s a beautiful piece of Michigan history. The case measures 30″ long, 4″ wide, 3.5″ high and weighs 5lbs 8oz.
